When a new ProtoPixel Brain Experience software update comes out, you will be able to update your Brain Experience by pressing on your Brain Experience’s control panel. This operation needs the Brain Experience to be connected to the internet.
To update the Brain Experience software manually, in case the above method fails or because there is no internet access, you can download the last version of the software accessing this link. Then, you'll need to save that file into a USB drive (it doesn't matter if you have other elements in it, it doesn't need to be empty), and connect that USB drive to the ProtoPixel Brain Experience. The device will automatically update itself and reboot. After that, you can safely remove the USB Drive from the Brain Experience.
Requirements
As a rule of thumb, it is better to have the Brain Experience connected to the Internet. To achieve this, usually, you are required to:
- Connect the ProtoPixel Brain Experience Ethernet port to a Router with DHCP enabled and access to the Internet.
- Configure the ProtoPixel Brain Experience to use DHCP (either DHCP only or DHCP and static IP).
Note: Beware that attempting to install a new FW without internet access for versions prior to 23.3 will fail and leave the Brain Experience in an unstable state.
