Casambi keypads can now be integrated into your Protopixel installation using the Gate Casambi. The inclusion process is similar to adding luminaires, with a few additional steps to ensure proper detection and setup.
Inclusion Process
The inclusion of Casambi keypads follows the same workflow as for luminaires:
1.- Create a Casambi Network using the Casambi App.
Make sure all devices, including keypads, are fully functional and visible within the app.
2.- Add the Gate Casambi to your project in the Project Tool.
3.- Include the Gate Casambi elements into the Project Tool to make the devices available for configuration and behaviour assignment.
Configuration Notes
When configuring the keypad in the Casambi App, select the faceplate layout that displays four push buttons. This ensures that all the physical buttons are correctly represented in the system. For detailed instructions on selecting the correct faceplate for your keypad, refer to the article Supported Casambi Luminaire Profiles and Keypads for Gate Casambi.
Once included, the keypad will appear in the Project Tool . Press all the keys on the keypad to make each button visible as a separate instance in the Project Tool, this allows you to create individual behaviours for each button.
Interacting with Keypads in the Project Tool
Keypads are displayed as a single element in the Project Tool. When selecting the keypad, you can see how many push buttons the device includes, simplifying identification and behaviour configuration.
When interacting with a Casambi keypad, the Project Tool provides visual feedback to help identify button activity:
- When a button on the keypad is pressed, its icon in Project Tool highlights momentarily, allowing you to confirm which element is being triggered.
- Additionally, when viewing the keypad’s details in the Inspector panel, the currently pressed instance is also indicated, making it easier to map each physical button to its corresponding digital instance.
This visual cue is especially useful during setup and behaviour assignment, ensuring clear identification of each button in real time.
