Gate SPI Wired Requirements

To use the Protopixel Gate SPI Wired, certain hardware, software, and connection requirements must be met to ensure proper functionality.

System Requirements (when used with the Mapping Tool)

• Hardware: A computer with at least 4 GB of RAM.
• Operating Systems supported:
  • macOS Sequoia 15 or later
  • Windows 10 or later

Power and Connections

• Power Supply: 5V (typically powered through a USB charger).
• Data Connections: Maximum distance of 1.5 m between the Gate SPI Wired and the LED strips, using AWG 18 cables.
• Network Connection: Via Ethernet or the Gate’s built-in Wi-Fi access point.

Software Requirements

• Mapping Tool: Downloadable from My Protopixel. Used to create recordings and configure the device.
• Web Access: Any standard web browser can be used to access the Gate’s WebApp (default IP: 192.168.4.1).

Default Configuration

The Gate SPI Wired is preconfigured to control 600 RGB pixels (3-channel) at 50 FPS. These parameters can be adjusted depending on the specific needs of your installation.
