The button integrated in the Gate SPI Wireless allows you to quickly verify the wiring and operation of connected LED pixels without needing additional software. This feature is designed for testing both power and data connections during installation.
When the Gate SPI Wireless has been installed and the physical wiring to the LED pixels has been completed, you can use the device’s default contents to check the correct response of the connected strip. These contents are not only intended for verification, but also provide a basic, ready-to-use setup so the device can operate immediately after installation.
To activate the default content test, press and hold the button for about 3 seconds. Once activated, the LEDs will run a pixel-by-pixel multicolor sweep across the strip.
👆🏻 The default content is configured for up to 1200 pixels; if your strip has fewer LEDs, it may appear that part of the strip is off, but the signal is being sent to the last defined pixels.
While using the default contents, you can press the button briefly to cycle through the output channels. For example, with an RGBW strip, successive presses of the button will switch the strip through green, red, blue, a mix of the three channels, and finally white.
To exit this mode, press and hold the button again for 3 seconds. The strip will return to normal operation, controlled by the uploaded content on the SD card.
