To use a Gate SPI Wireless, it's important to know that there are three possible scenarios depending on your setup. If you want to use the Gate in stand-alone mode, you’ll need to create a new wireless installation directly from the Protopixel App, and all pairing and configuration steps will be managed there. If you already have a wireless installation, you can simply add the Gate to it through the app, extending your existing setup.
1.- Using the Gate in Stand-Alone Mode
To begin, make sure you're using the latest version of the Protopixel App (25.10 or higher) to ensure compatibility with the Gate SPI Wireless. You can download it here for Android devices or here for iOS.
In order to create a new installation with a Gate SPI Wireless, from the installations view tap the "+" button and select "Create New".
Then, name your new installation.
After naming your installation, you’ll be asked to start adding elements. Tap "Continue", and you’ll be redirected to the list of available devices.
This list shows all devices that are ready to be included in an installation and are near your mobile device. If you have multiple Gates, we recommend adding the closest to your router first, to ensure better communication between your installation and the network.
If you have multiple elements and need to physically identify one, tap any element in the list and select "Identify". The chosen luminaire will start blinking, and you’ll see visual feedback in the app.
Once you know which element you want to include first, tap on it and then select “Add to Installation”.
As this is the first element, you’ll need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. If you’re on the wrong network or want to use a different one, tap "Change" and select the preferred Wi-Fi.
If you’re on the correct network, simply enter the Wi-Fi password and tap "Next". The app will then begin adding the element to your installation, showing progress in real time.
After the element is successfully added, you’ll return to the available devices list, with a confirmation message displayed. You can then proceed to add more elements.
If any step fails, restart the process.
As you continue adding devices, you’ll see the elements already included in the "Connected" tab. After adding all the desired elements, tap "Go to Installation" to access and manage your setup.
2.- Adding the Gate to an Existing Wireless Installation
Once inside the Protopixel App, open the installation where you want to add the Gate SPI Wireless. Navigate to "Manage" in the menu.
Within the "Manage Installation" screen, tap "Manage" again, followed by the "+" button.
This will open the Pairing Assistant, where you’ll be able to select the device you want to pair.
After completing the pairing, the new elements will automatically appear in your installation. When you tap "Go to Installation", you’ll return to the main screen where the added elements will be reflected.
