To connect the Long-Range controller, follow these steps:
- Connect the controller to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector or PoE switch to power it up.
- Ensure there's a functioning IP network between the controller and your computer.
- Use the ProtoPixel Mapping Tool software to locate and connect to the controller.
- Open the "Devices" tab in the Mapping Tool software.
- The Long-Range controllers should appear in the list.
- Click on a controller to access its configuration page.
Alternatively, you can connect through a Node:
- Make sure there's a working Ethernet IP network between the controller, the node, and your computer.
- Open the "Devices" tab in the web interface of the Node.
- Click on the Long-Range controller to access its configuration page.
For the network configuration, note that by default the controller uses DHCP network mode and it’s IP address range is 192.168.133.XXX
, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
.
If you need to set a manual IP, you can use the following configuration as a guide:
- IP:
192.168.133.55
(adjust the last digits if needed) - Subnet mask:
255.255.255.0
👆🏼 Remember to connect the receivers to the controller for accessing the fixtures. The distance between the controller and receiver can be up to 300 meters using a twisted pair cable. 👆🏼
